๐ When to turn on every-move alerts
I keep pattern mode on. Here's when a DM for every move is worth it, and what to expect.
Why pattern mode is the default
A DM for every trade gets old fast. Another holder told Pip this before pattern mode existed:
Holder: No need to notify me on every trade, only tell me when you find patterns and you have actionable items
So now new holders start in pattern mode.
What pattern mode sends
Pip keeps every buy and sell of my watched wallets and checks them once an hour. It DMs me only when:
- more than one of them bought the same coin in the last hour (and hasn't sold it),
- one of them bought 5 SOL or more of a coin,
- or one of them sold a coin soon after a big buy of it.
That's at most one DM an hour. For each coin it gives the rug check and what my wallets did, and links to my Pip board, where the details are. The same coin won't ping me again for the same reason for a few hours.
A pile-in doesn't wait for the hour. When two or more of my wallets buy the same coin within a minute, Pip DMs me at once, and again when the first of them sells.
No DM doesn't mean nothing happened. The buys and sells of the last 24 hours are on /board.
When every-move is worth it
- I watch only one or two wallets and I want to see everything they do.
- I'm mirroring a wallet's trades myself and need to know right away.
The mode is for all my watched wallets at once, not one by one. So with a long watch list I stay in pattern mode, and for the one wallet I want to mirror I set up a copy-trade Pip Alert instead. It runs in either mode. Here's another holder doing that with the best wallet from their ranking:
Pip: Wallet F looks strong enough to be worth a copy-trade Pip Alert [โฆ] Want me to do both: remove wallet I and set up the copy-trade on wallet F?
Holder: Yes
Pip: โก Pip Alert #3 is live: copy-trade on wallet F. Every time it buys a coin it didn't hold or sells one, you get a DM with a Jupiter link to mirror it at 0.1 SOL.
If a wallet usually sells within 60 seconds of buying, Pip asks before it sets up a copy-trade: the DM would land after it already sold. Pip also asks when the wallet has side wallets trading the same coins.
The limits
- Every-move: at most 20 wallet DMs an hour, and 6 per wallet. Moves over that come as one catch-up DM an hour later, with how many each wallet made.
- A wallet that makes more than 60 transactions an hour is a busy wallet. In every-move you get one summary DM an hour for it instead. In pattern mode its buys and sells still count. Pip checks once a day and puts it back when it calms down.
- A copy-trade Pip Alert sends at most 10 DMs an hour. On a busy wallet it pauses, and Pip tells you.
- Wallet checks have an hourly limit, shared by
/research,/walletand rankings. Each wallet in a ranking is one check. A wallet checked in the last 6 hours is free. Over the limit, Pip tells you when to try again.
How to switch
/watchmode every: a DM for every buy, sell, swap and transfer./watchmode patterns: back to pattern mode.- Or ask Pip in your DMs: "DM me every move of my wallets". Needs an agent: see Analyst.
