๐Ÿ” Find wallets worth copying

How I go from a pile of "insane traders" to a few wallets I actually watch.

The chats below are real and trimmed. Wallets are renamed A to I.

1. Paste the list

Wallets from an X thread or ChatGPT come messy. I don't clean them up. I paste the whole thing to Pip in my DMs and Pip ranks them by 30-day profit, with win rate and trades on each line.

Me: saw these in a thread, apparently all "insane traders" ๐Ÿ”ฅ who's actually good? wallet A, wallet C (100x guy), wallet B, wallet D, wallet E

Pip: Wallet A: +1.42 SOL, 53% win rate, 260 trades
Wallet B: +1.28 SOL, 47% win rate, 250 trades
Wallet C ("100x guy"): +1.17 SOL, only 40% win rate, 268 trades
Wallet D: +0.70 SOL, 21% win rate
Wallet E: โˆ’1.27 SOL, 29% win rate, 7-second holds

So wallet A is the only actually good one, with wallet B a close second. The "100x guy" and the rest are thread hype.

The "100x guy" made one big hit. Over the month he's third, and he loses more trades than he wins.

2. Look at 30 days, not last week

For the top one or two I run /wallet and paste the address. The report shows profit in SOL on what it sold, win rate, median hold, its most-traded tokens, a flag if the wallet is new, and its side wallets that trade the same coins.

A wallet can have a great week and a bad month. Another holder watched four wallets picked from their recent trades, then asked Pip to rank them:

Holder: Go again

Pip: Wallet F: +26.81 SOL, 96% win rate (67/70), 191 trades
Wallet G: +14.62 SOL, 81% (13/16), 163 trades
Wallet H: no sells yet
Wallet I: โˆ’13.83 SOL, 33% (6/18), 219 trades

Wallet I fooled us: yesterday's trades looked great, but over 30 days it's down 13.8 SOL with a 33% win rate.

A wallet checked in the last 6 hours costs nothing to check again and shows the same numbers.

3. Watch the good ones

I watch the ones that hold up with /watch and the address, or I ask Pip to watch them.

No list of my own? I ask Pip "find top traders" for the smart-wallets list, then "follow the best 3" (or /follow best 3). Pip watches the top ones and swaps them when the list changes once a day. Wallets I added myself stay put. More on Find good traders.

How many wallets you can watch: 1 panda: 3, 3 pandas: 10, 5 pandas: 100.

4. Let pattern mode do the watching

New holders start in pattern mode. I leave it on. Pip doesn't DM me every trade. It checks my wallets once an hour and only DMs me when:

  • more than one of them bought the same coin (and hasn't sold it),
  • one of them bought 5 SOL or more of a coin,
  • or one of them sold a coin soon after a big buy of it.

That's at most one short DM an hour.

5. Read the details on /board

The DM gives the rug check and what the wallets did, in short. I tap the link or type /board for the rest: which wallets did what, a rug check when Pip has one, and their buys and sells of the last 24 hours.

If a coin looks interesting, I check it with /research before I do anything.

Good to know

  • Last month's profit says nothing sure about next month.
  • Ranking a list and "find top traders" need an agent: see Analyst.
  • A wallet on a list is not a buy tip. Copying is your call: wins and losses are yours. Nothing here is financial advice.
